Madison Middle School After-School Tutorial Students Gain Exposure Through Educational Field Trip
Students participating in Madison Middle School’s after-school tutorial program recently took part in an educational field trip designed to provide meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. The trip offered students valuable exposure while reinforcing academic skills and encouraging exploration of future opportunities.
The field trip was supported and led by Supervisor Dr. Rebecca Revels and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Director Mrs. Javonn Nicholas, whose commitment to student enrichment continues to enhance after-school programming. Throughout the experience, students engaged in guided activities, discussions, and hands-on learning that connected classroom instruction to real-world applications.
This opportunity allowed after-school tutorial students to broaden their perspectives, ask questions, and build confidence in new environments. The experience also emphasized the importance of academic growth, collaboration, and preparation for future success.

Madison Middle School After-School Tutorial Students Engage in Enrichment Using Flying Classroom
Students enrolled in the Madison Middle School after-school tutorial program recently participated in an exciting enrichment activity using Flying Classroom, an interactive learning platform designed to enhance student engagement through exploration and real-world connections.

Madison Middle School is excited to offer after-school tutorial sessions every Tuesday through Thursday from 3:35–5:35 p.m. These sessions provide students with a supportive space to strengthen academic skills, complete assignments, and receive extra help from their teachers.
During after-school tutorials, students participate in focused review activities, small-group instruction, and guided practice designed to reinforce classroom learning. The program also helps students prepare for upcoming quizzes, unit tests, and standardized assessments by building confidence and effective test-taking strategies.
We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to support student success. Madison Middle School remains committed to helping all students grow academically and reach their full potential—both during the school day and beyond.

Madison Middle School Honors the Life and Legacy of Ms. Cececilia Turpin with Balloon Release Memorial
Madison Middle School recently came together as a school community to honor the life and legacy of Ms. Cececilia Turpin, a beloved teacher whose impact will forever be felt within the halls of the school. Students, faculty, staff, and families gathered for a balloon release memorial in remembrance of her dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her students.
The memorial served as a moment of reflection and unity, allowing those in attendance to celebrate Ms. Turpin’s life and the countless lives she touched throughout her teaching career. Known for her compassion, patience, and passion for education, Ms. Turpin was more than a teacher—she was a mentor, encourager, and source of inspiration to many.
As balloons were released into the sky, participants shared quiet moments of remembrance, symbolizing love, gratitude, and the lasting influence Ms. Turpin had on the Madison Middle School community. The ceremony reflected the deep respect and appreciation held for a teacher who devoted her heart to serving others.
Madison Middle School extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Turpin’s family, friends, and loved ones. Her legacy will continue to live on through the students she inspired, the colleagues she supported, and the many memories shared by those who were fortunate to know her.

Student Spotlight: Gregory Smith III
Join us in celebrating Gregory Smith III, an outstanding 8th-grade student at Madison Middle School and a proud member of Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG)! Gregory recently entered the Prepared Speaking Competition with a strong goal in mind—winning first place and advancing to the national competition in Salt Lake City, Utah.
We are incredibly proud of Gregory and wish him the best as he competes and represents Madison Middle School. Keep striving, keep speaking, and keep leading!

Madison Middle School is offering after-school tutorials to support students with additional academic help and enrichment opportunities.
Tutorials are held Tuesday through Thursday from 3:35–5:35 PM and provide students with extra time to review lessons, complete assignments, prepare for tests, and strengthen skills in core subject areas. Certified teachers are available to work with students in a structured and supportive environment.
This program is designed to help students build confidence, improve academic performance, and develop strong study habits. Students who need extra support, as well as those who want to stay on top of their schoolwork, are encouraged to attend.
